TRIIODIDE STUDIOS

Est. 2022 // contact@triiodide.dev

ABOUT US:

Founded in 2022, our indie studio was born from a shared passion for creating atmospheric horror games that can be played with friends.

Our mission at Triiodide Studios is to create the best horror multiplayer experience. We believe creating long-lasting memories that players can share with their friends, or strangers takes precedence above all else.

The outcome of this thesis is our current title, Backrooms: Escape Together (B.E.T). BET frequently sits in the top 100 of Steam's best-selling games and we enjoy widespread acclaim from the community, along with 20% month-over-month growth.

At Triiodide Studios, our greatest reward is seeing players unite in the dark, laugh off jump scares, and celebrate narrow escapes together over and over again.

CORE VALUES:

01
Immersive
We create environments that pull players in and don't let go. Every aspect of our games is crafted to maintain the tension and atmosphere that keeps players at the edge of their seats.
02
Community
Our community drives us forward. Every comment and critique guides our roadmap, so we can deliver experiences that fit what you actually want to play.
03
Quality
From code to artwork, we maintain high standards in everything we create. We're committed to polishing our game until it delivers experiences that feel complete.

DOCUMENTED LEVELS

12 procedurally generated levels. Each run is unique. Hover over a card to read its briefing.

LEVEL_0 // THE LOBBY
Level 0
DIFFICULTYEntry
ENTITIESBacteria, Smiler
MECHANICDocumenting
Endless yellow corridors, damp carpet, and the buzz of fluorescent lights overhead. The Lobby is where most wanderers first arrive. Threats, isolation and monotony erode morale quickly.
LEVEL_0.11 // WATER DAMAGE
Level 0.11
DIFFICULTYEntry
ENTITIESNone
MECHANICNoclip
A lower section of The Lobby. Lighting is dim and signs of past water damage are everywhere: stained ceiling tiles, scattered trash, and discarded debris littering the floor.
LEVEL_1 // HABITABLE ZONE
Level 1
DIFFICULTYModerate
ENTITIESSkin-Stealer
MECHANICGenerators
A massive concrete parking structure with scattered supply rooms and long periods of darkness. One of the more stable environments on record, though Skin-Stealers patrol during blackouts. Power must be restored across the level before the exit will unlock.
LEVEL_-1 // GRAYSCALE HALLS
Level -1
DIFFICULTYModerate
ENTITIESShadow
MECHANICRitual
A desaturated hotel with decaying wallpaper and rotting doors. Perception and orientation distort here; returning expeditions are rare. A ritual tied to the lighting of each room must be completed before the level will release you.
LEVEL_2 // PIPE DREAMS
Level 2
DIFFICULTYHard
ENTITIESScratcher
MECHANICValves
A narrow industrial maze of service tunnels filled with extreme heat and constant mechanical noise. The Scratcher is blind but hunts by sound; stealth is the only reliable defense. Progress requires rerouting the valve system hidden along the corridors.
LEVEL_3 // ELECTRICAL STATION
Level 3
DIFFICULTYHard
ENTITIESClump
MECHANICRepair
An endless network of service corridors, generators, and maintenance rooms across three sectors. Repeating layouts and locked access points make navigation punishing. Restoring power advances the level one sector at a time, and the Clump hunts aggressively.
LEVEL_4 // ABANDONED OFFICE
Level 4
DIFFICULTYModerate
ENTITIESNone
MECHANICCode
Quiet office floors with functional lights, furniture, and occasional supplies. A rare point of relative stability in the Backrooms. A code hidden across the level locks the only route forward.
LEVEL_6 // LIGHTS OUT
Level 6
DIFFICULTYExtreme
ENTITIESCollector
MECHANICLIDAR
Near-total darkness. Lidar is the only navigation tool available, but every scan broadcasts your position to whatever lives here. Holes in the floor are common and lethal. Only one of the exit doors leads forward.
LEVEL_37 // SUBLIMITY
Level 37
DIFFICULTYModerate
ENTITIESNone
MECHANICExplore
Vast stretches of warm, shallow water extending beyond visible limits. Initially calming, then disorienting. Exhaustion and dehydration are the primary threats. Find your way out.
LEVEL_! // RUN FOR YOUR LIFE
Level !
DIFFICULTYExtreme
ENTITIESScratcher
MECHANICChase
A hospital corridor lined with overturned gurneys and medical debris. You must run. Do not stop.
LEVEL_FUN // FUN =)
Level Fun
DIFFICULTYLethal
ENTITIESPartygoer
MECHANICMinigames
A brightly colored children's play area that masks extreme danger. Partygoers patrol the maze, sight-based and highly aggressive during blackouts. Coins earned from mini-games are the currency of progress.
THE_HUB // THE HUB
The Hub
DIFFICULTYSafe
ENTITIESNone
MECHANICNexus
A gateway level connecting every previously completed destination. No entities. No hazards. A rare moment of rest before selecting the next descent.

ENTITY DATABASE

Hostile signatures detected. Hover over an entity to read its briefing.

E-001 // BACTERIA
Bacteria
THREATLethal
LOCATIONLevel 0
BEHAVIORPursuit
Tall humanoid figure resembling black mold, encountered in Level 0. Exceptional vision at long range, acute hearing across the level. Detects walking, running, jumping, and whistling. Sound discipline and sharp turns extend survival windows.
E-002 // SMILER
Smiler
THREATUnfriendly
LOCATIONLevel 0, Level 0.11
BEHAVIORSanity Drain
Passive but dangerous. Only manifests during Blackout Events in Level 0. Does not chase, does not respond to sound, cannot be outrun. Proximity alone triggers a jumpscare, stun, and sanity drain. Distance is the only defense.
E-003 // SKIN-STEALER
Skin-Stealer
THREATHostile
LOCATIONLevel 1
BEHAVIORDeceptive
Hostile entity found in Level 1. Always repelled by light, which remains its core weakness. Blackout Events shift behavior: it becomes aggressive, moves faster than the player, and sees in the dark.
E-004 // SHADOW
Shadow
THREATHostile
LOCATIONLevel -1
BEHAVIORAggressive
Aggressive entity exclusive to Level -1. Spawns at random in hallways, rooms, and closets without warning. Approaches rapidly and kills on sight. Once detected, recovery is unlikely.
E-005 // SCRATCHER
Scratcher
THREATLethal
LOCATIONLevel 2, Level !
BEHAVIORSound-based
Two variants observed. The Level 2 variant is blind and navigates entirely by sound, responding to walking, running, jumping, whistling, and alarms. The Level ! variant cannot be avoided; its speed dynamically matches the player's distance. Both move fast when alerted.
E-006 // CLUMP
Clump
THREATLethal
LOCATIONLevel 3
BEHAVIORDeceptive
Sound and sight-based entity found in Level 3. Extremely aggressive and responsive to nearly all noises. Employs deceptive behavior near doors, remembers escape routes, and finds alternate paths.
E-007 // COLLECTOR
Collector
THREATUnfriendly
LOCATIONLevel 6
BEHAVIORStalking
Hostile entity bound to Level 6. Not visible under normal navigation. Attracted to the lidar mechanic at full power, and once revealed it cannot be outrun. Resets scanned environment on contact, leaving the player disoriented in the dark.
E-008 // PARTYGOER
Partygoer
THREATHostile
LOCATIONLevel Fun
BEHAVIORSight-based
Sight-based entity patrolling Level Fun. During Blackout Events, actively hunts. During Light Events, remains passive unless held in eye contact.
